Hi there, thanks for your feedback. We're still in discussion with Sony regarding this issue - we'll let you know if we have any further information we can share as soon as we get it. From what we understand, this issue affects numerous games and isn't specific to Battlezone.

 Hi there. I'm afraid there isn't any way to aim with the head. Aiming and steering is done solely with the PS4 pad.

 Yes, curious that the demo disk should do this but many of the demos don't. Nevertheless, we're going to try to get something into a future patch to mimic this behaviour.

 Thanks for your feedback BattleZen. We're already working on 3) as it's clear the game is harder than we intended it to be. 4) is also something we're interested in exploring further. I'll pass on the rest of your suggestions - I can't make any promises but we're not ruling anything out for future development at this stage.

 We've got some ideas regarding motion controls that we're considering for the PC version so we're definitely not ruling them out. It was clear during the development of the PS4 version just how much the tracking of the pad helped to 'ground' the player in the world so we're interested to see where we can go with the PC version.

Each time you play a campaign you unlock new weaponry types and upgrade levels that will appear in shops in subsequent campaigns. There's no way to permanently upgrade a tank but new tank types can be unlocked which provide new starting weapons, modulator layouts, etc.


Battlezone's campaign is heavily inspired by roguelike games (technically it's a 'roguelite', but the definitions are a bit woolly) like Binding of Isaac or FTL, which use similar mechanics.

I don't know if Judge_Moist is allowed to comment on the difficulty scaling, but it would be interesting to know how things scale as you add players, and what exactly changes between 1 and 4 players?

 Well I'm allowed to comment about it, but I don't know all the ins and outs of it myself. I'll see if I can get Beldeth to corral the designers into providing some more in-depth information.


As far as our longer term plans regarding difficulty, etc. go, adding new difficulty levels (at either end of the scale) and/or renaming the existing ones is definitely something we'll consider.

Indeed, all useful feedback. Interestingly, we've already discussed some of these internally (like the weapon list re-ordering). I'll make sure the design team see these and see what we can work into a future update.

 People want to have fun playing Battlezone and if Rebellion wants to alienate those people then more power to them. I personally don't think they want that.

 We really don't. We want everyone to enjoy Battlezone, however they play it. That said, we don't want to spoil the game for anyone who is enjoying it. We'll have more news soon, I hope. Watch this space.

Thanks, I'll check out Valkyrie. I had a quick go on Thumper and Drive Club VR on the demo disk and their behaviour matched ours. Nevertheless, if we can improve things from our end, we'll include it in a future patch.

Can I assume you are talking about the drift?

 Yep, the drift is a separate issue that we believe is beyond our control. We're investigating our options regarding the orientation recalibration. Ironically, I'd been checking what other titles do the other day and picked up Rigs, assuming that was a good one to compare ourselves to! If we can get something like this into a future patch, we will. That should at least alleviate the drift problems somewhat.

 No problem. I think it's fair to say that there's no one 'perfect' headset out there yet based on the ones we've seen. It'll be fascinating to see what the next generation of tech is like.

 Sweet, sounds good. And sorry if it sounded harsh. Its hard to constantly be frustrated by something then have to explain that frustration without getting frustrated just while explaining it. Haha.
